Right, people... coronavirus is sweeping the globe and shit's going sideways. It's looking quite likely that we're all going to be in quarantine soon, locked down and treading a fine line between stress and hysteria - fighting back the urge to suddenly scream: "Cover your face!" every time a loved one coughs. At this rate, whoever's left at the other end of this mess could quite conceivably find themselves pushing a battered-up shopping trolley down litter-strewn streets, beneath gun-metal skies and shivering at night, all huddled up in the tattered remnants of tarpaulin within the freezing shadows of a motorway overpass. So, until we find ourselves basically living out McCarthy's The Road, we want to say this: During the next few months, people are going to be self-isolating and the risk of becoming brain-buggeringly bored is incredibly real. Anyone who's familiar with the term Cabin Fever may already be feeling the chest-tightening pangs of an onset of the Heebie-Jeebies. So we feel that, as a purveyor of wonderful creative works, it is pretty much our civic duty to find some way of helping. And to this end, we have decided to make our books as affordable as possible until this dismal situation looks like it's coming to an end. Yesterday, 17th March 2020, Amazon reported that they're suspending warehouse shipments other than urgent medical supplies. It may well turn out to be the case that buying books online will become extraordinarily difficult. So there's nothing we can do to help in that regard. But what we can do, is reduce the price of our kindle books to the lowest possible price that we can to make them more accessible to anyone currently chewing every last scrap of fingernail down to the quick in sheer desperation. No. This is not a cynical ploy to cash in on a global crisis. It is most definitely not that. Okay..? This is Obliterati Press recognising that over the next few months, people need to pull together. As a tiny little indie press holding shit together on the fraying tatters of a shoestring, there isn't a great deal else that we can do. But we can do this. So, visit our BOOKS page and click on the covers of what we consider to be some really quite excellent novels and see if there's anything that tickles your quarantined-fancy. Our eBooks are all now 99p and will remain that price for the foreseeable future. As Dwayne Johnson joyfully sang in Moana: You're welcome.
